Licensing and copyright

All our images are copyright Birmingham Picture Library (BPL).

BPL works to the standard terms and conditions offered by UK photolibraries. Images may not be reproduced, distributed or re-sold in any form, (including print, internet or other electronic) without a prior grant of licence by BPL in the form of a reproduction right.

Images are not royalty free, they are licensed by BPL on a per use basis. Each new use, including reprints, will require a new licence from BPL.

Sample images are copyright BPL. You are permitted to use them only as comping images in roughs and mock-ups. Sample images may not be reproduced in any finished product, distributed or re-sold in any form, (including print, internet or other electronic).

Guide prices

Pricing will vary according to use: your licensing request should include details including size, positioning, type of publication, length of print run and market sector. The prices below are intended as a guide only:

Print 1 (standard editorial use): from £100 for first image
Print 2 (cover, advert, calendar, poster): from £150 for first image
Electronic (websites, AV, CD-ROMs): from £80 for first image.

Special discounts are available for multiple use within one project.

Transparency loan: by special arrangement only.
